Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rachel Michaela discovered her love for acting while pursuing her MA in Mental Health Counseling. Described by her late mentor and friend Sam Christensen as a natural talent and "the most delightful American actress since Rosalind Russell," Rachel enjoys exploring all facets of creative expression and performance.
As an actress, Rachel is consistently evolving her craft, expanding her unique approach to performing as an improviser, and as a theater, television, and film actress. She is currently studying at The Groundlings Theater, at the World's Greatest Improv School under Will Hines, and has been accepted to The Barrow Group Theater Company and Acting School in NYC.
Rachel can often be found cruising with her dog in her pickup truck, hunting down the best cup of black coffee in town, or at the gym on the heavy bag. Her favorite pastimes include surfing the beaches of San Diego, exploring in the Jemez mountains, wind tunnel skydiving, and shooting at the range.

Santa Fe Improv has been teaching improvisation to actors and writers, artists and scientists, students, therapists, lawyers, teachers, retirees, entrepreneurs, and more, for over a decade.
Our program is ideal for anyone interested in challenging themselves with something new, personally satisfying, and fun.
Our ongoing improv classes are our “Weekly Practice.” Like any creative activity, or one that takes time to fully realize, like yoga or mindfulness, improvisation is a practice that deepens and strengthens over time. All students new to the school begin with Fundamentals, giving them an opportunity to build a solid foundation in SFI’s long form improvisation.
